This book by local historian Liam Bradley provided me with ship schedules leaving Warrenpoint

Armagh Irish Studies Library, I visited the Armagh library for the second time on Thursday 12th February, after my initial visit ,I  decided what to focus on for my research. Also I wanted to fill the gaps in my original research the librarians are really helpful I was able to look through old copies of the Newry Commercial Telegraph on microfilm, enabling me to cross reference departure dates of sailings from Warrenpoint with advertisements in the paper for the departure of the ships.
I realise I should have much more time researching a topic to choose!!The Famine and emigration is a vast topic, with much more information re the larger ports  such as  Dublin Cork etc.
I contacted a local historian who gave  me some helpful times on researching.

Visited Irish Studies Library Armagh, lots of info on emigration although not a lot specific to South Down, discovered details of Ships leaving Warrenpoint from Jan to Dec 1916 but could not cross reference dates or passenger lists. Have discovered a lot of sailings advertised as departing from Newry actually departed Warrenpoint. Will visit Newry Library this evening to see if they have any local information .Liam Bradly's Warrenpoint Origins and development has been of great benefit.
